To the CENSUS Index

**Note: The 1870 US census for Michigan is being placed online by the Library of Michigan.  It is searchable; just type in Rowley (or other surname), and you get every Rowley listed in that census, the county, and a link to the census page.  The URL is:

http://envoy.libofmich.lib.mi.us/1870_census/Search.asp

As our supplement to the Michigan census, an index page is provided which associates those census entries with their Spencer number. It includes a link to the actual image for that page available from the Library of Michigan. Corrections and updates are requested as usual.

Since all counties are not yet online, those counties already transcribed will remain until superseded by the actual census data.  [Thanks to Sharon Rowley Piersma for this information.] Alternatively, the tables may provide a link to those files with an identification of the applicable Spencer number.
