Brutus, Meech Cemetery

The Meech Cemetery is located on Brutus Road, between Bonta Bridge and Pump Roads, near the northeast corner of Brutus Township. The cemetery is one of the oldest in the area. The earliest burial in this survey was made in 1808. The last burial would appear to have been made in 1902.

Located on the western outskirts of the village, on Route 70 on the Cato-Ira town line.

Locke, Bird Cemetery

Located two miles S of Locke village, on E side of Ridge Road, near S line of Lot 32 on p. 52 of New Century Atlas, Cayuga County, N.Y., 1904. The land for this cemetery was given by a Mr. Bird in an early period, and grave inscriptions would indicate that it was in use before abandonment of the OLD SETTLERS cemetery in the village. It is well kept and in current use at the present time. [Copied 1955 by Leslie Luther, Moravia, N.Y.]
