Robert Higleydied in World Trade Center attackRobert Dale Warren Higley II, an insurance executive with Aon Risk Management Services, which had offices on the 92nd floor of the World Trade Center, is missing and presumed dead following the terrorist attack of Sept. 11.He was a former Ridgefielder and was married to longtime Ridgefielder Vycki Higley, daughter of Robert and Emily Rowley of Danbury, formerly of Ridgefield. The Higleys had just bought a house in New Fairfield and were in the process of moving. Robert Higley was born on Nov. 22, 1971, in Libertyville, Ill., son of Douglas Higley of Louisiana and Judith Higley of Florida. Mr. Higley lived with his family on Beaver Brook Road from 1975 to 1978 and attended Ridgebury Elementary School. His family moved to Bermuda and then to Louisiana. After graduating from the University of Connecticut, he married Vycki Rowley, whom he had met at a party in Ridgefield, having continued friendships established during his childhood here. After their marriage in 1994, they moved to Louisiana where he worked in his family’s insurance business. They later moved back to the Northeast and lived in Danbury while he worked in the insurance business in the area, including New York state and for several years as a manager at A.J. Carnall insurance on Main Street. He later worked as an insurance executive in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts before taking a job with Aon at the World Trade Center. He had been on the job for three months. He was a member of Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church and enjoyed golf, tennis, and biking. “He has been a part of our family since he was 18,” members of the Rowley family said. Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by a daughter, Amanda Nicole, four; and a daughter yet to be born; a brother, Todd of Wellington, Fla.; a sister, Rachel of Lafayette, La.; two grandparents, Everett and Valda Naeve of West Palm Beach, Fla., and longtime friends, Carl Abrahamson of Stamford, the godfather of his daughter, Amanda; Erik Abrahamson of Shadow Lake Road and Dan Kish of Highview Road. His sister-in-law, Beth Rowley, died before him.
