DEATHS

At 2 o’clock this afternoon occurred the last rites over the remains of the late Clarissa Rowley, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.R. Vanderford, of Canaan Street. The services were impressive and were conducted by Rev. William Edgar, of the First Methodist church, who preached a sermon full of consolation to the bereaved friends and relatives.

Deceased was ever an adherant to the Christian religion which fact very materially lessens the grief of those who loved her.

Many beautiful flowers adorned the casket which was borne to the bier by Messers D. C. Benscoter, Pierce Butler, T. C. Robinson, Perry Oliver, H.B. Jadwin and James Bassett. Music was furnished by members of the Methodist choir.

Among those from abroad who attended the service were: Mr. and Mrs. Adelburt Rowley and daughter Cora, of Scranton; Thompson Rowley of Binghampton, and Mr. and Mrs. William Shiffer, of West Pittston. The remains were interred in Maplewood cemetery.
