DEATHSLEWIS, RALPH W. A resident of Kentwood, he died at 10:36 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. He was 89 and a native of Tangipahoa Parish. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Visitation at Lewiston Baptist Church, Kentwood, from 8 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Leon Carpenter and the Rev. Richard Hagan. Interment in Lewiston Cemetery, Kentwood. Survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Louiedell F. Lewis, Kentwood; two daughters, Dura L. Hart, Jackson, Miss., and Martha Holbrook, Oklahoma; a son, Mitchell Lewis, Terry, Miss.; a sister, Mildred Frakes, Borger, Texas; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Preceded in death by a son, Jones Walter Lewis; a grandson, John Franklin Hart; parents, Jones Walter and Pauline Booty Lewis; two brothers, Davis Lewis and Welty Lewis; and a sister, Emma Rowley. He was a deacon of Lewiston Baptist Church and will be remembered for building many homes in the area. |
