DEATHS
MANSFIELD -- Margy Dopps, 72, of Dirlam Lane died Saturday, Nov. 30,
2002, in her home after a long illness.
She was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 5, 1929 to Roy Harry and
Minnie Lee (Crutcher) Williamson. She graduated as valedictorian with
the class of 1947, from Essex High School in Missouri and attended
Southeast Missouri State.
Margy was married October 14, 1967 to Daniel W. Dopps and moved to this
area from Fayetteville, North Carolina in 1971. She was employed for
over 20 years by the US Government, working as a Service Representative
for Social Security.
Mrs. Dopps was a devout member of Marion Avenue Grace Brethren Church,
where for several years she volunteered caring for the children in the
nursery. She conducted home Bible studies, traveled extensively, and
played tournament duplicate bridge.
Along with her husband of 35 years, she is survived by daughters and
sons-in-law, Diana and Michael Regnier of Gallatin, Tennessee, Linda
Blake of Mansfield, Geri Blake and her husband Bill Bennett of Gallatin,
and Lisa & Jon Mench of Greenbrier, Tennessee; sons and daughter-in-law,
James Blake of Bellville and Lee and Vonnie Blake also of Bellville;
grandchildren Winter Rowley, Michael Regnier, Christan Blake, Ryan,
Tyler, Lauren and Kyle Mench, and Joseph Bennett; great grandson Aidan
Rowley; her mother-in-law, Gertrude Elkins; brothers and sisters-in-law,
Billy and Wilma Williamson and Estel and Doris Williamson all of Essex,
Missouri; sister Pat Quattlebaum and Jim Quattlebaum of Arlington,
Texas; and sister-in-law China Williamson of Essex.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Harry
G. Williamson, grandson Christopher James Blake, and great-grandchild
Ashton Blake.
Friends may call Monday December 2, 2002 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the
Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service will be
held Tuesday at 10 a.m. Pastors Sonny Thayer and Lester Vnasdale will
officiate. Margy's committal service will be held on Thursday, December
5, 2002, at 10 a.m. in Essex Cemetery, Essex Missouri.
At Margy's request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Marion
Avenue Grace Brethren Church Building Fund may be made at the funeral
home.
