M. L. ROWLEY, FORMER CHENEY CITIZEN DEAD

M. L. Rowley, an early settler in eastern Washington, died at his home in Medical Lake this week.

Mr. Rowley was 77 years of age. A number of years ago he removed from Medical Lake to this city, where he resided for several years. He later returned to that place, where he had continued to reside until the time of his death. While a resident of Cheney, Mr. Rowley became a member of General George Wright post of the Grand Army of the Republic, which membership he sustained until the time of his death.

Funeral services will be held at his home Saturday at 10 o'clock, the sermon to be delivered by the pastor of the Congregational church there. The body will be brought to this city under escort of his post comrades, consisting of Commander William Dean, H. D. Morgan, John Garner, A. F. Lasher, D. Evans and J. E. Quivey, who will act as pallbearers. Interment will be at Fairview cemetery, where the Rev. H. C. Kohr, pastor of the Cheney Methodist Episcopal church, will officiate.

Mr. Rowley is survived by three daughters-- Mrs. Frank Korte, wife of a merchant at Medical Lake; Mrs. Ray C. Peterson of this city, and an unmarried daughter, who lives at the family home in Medical Lake.

Mrs. Rowley died a number of years ago, while the family lived in this city.
