NEW HAVEN, Conn., Jan. 6-- James F. Rowley, former New
York and New Haven restaurant proprietor, died at the Hospital of St.
Raphael here last night of a heart attack, at the age of 67.
He was born in this city, and after a short business
career here became assistant manager with the Shanleys, also former New
Haven restaurateurs, in their Forty-second Street and other New York
restaurants. When the Shanleys retired, Mr. Rowley and Patrick
Shanley, one of the brothers, had a restaurant in New York until Mr.
Rowley's retirement five years ago, when he came to this city.
He leaves a widow, Mrs. Lattimore Rowley, and two sons,
James F. Jr. and Thomas C. Rowley.

Rowley - In New Haven, Jan. 5, 1943. James F. Rowley, husband
of Mary Lattimore Rowley. Funeral will take place from the parlors of M.
F. Walker & Sons, 1201 Chapel St., Friday morning. Requiem High Mass
at St. Brendan's Church at 10 o'clock. Interment Calvary Cemetery, New
York. Train arrival Grand Central Station, 1 P. M. |
