DEATHSJONES, HARRY Died 1 p.m. Monday, May 28, 1990, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 80, a native and resident of Baton Rouge. He was retired from Exxon Refinery and was an East Baton Rouge Parish School Board cross guard. Visiting at Fraternal Funeral Home, Clinton, 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, with family visitation at 7 p.m. Friday. Religious services at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, Ethel, at 11 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Robert M. Aites. Burial in church cemetery. Survived by four step-daughters, Velma J. Smith, Baton Rouge, Mildred J. Word and Lovie Irene Waldon, both of Detroit, Mich., and Eartha J. Shanks, Plano, Texas; eight step-sons, Simon Jackson, Ethel, the Rev. Dudley Jackson and Ulysess Jackson, both of Baton Rouge, Alvin and Calvin Jackson, both of Detroit, Mich., Clarence Jackson, Oxen Hill, Md., Alton Jackson, Fort Washington, Va., and Donald Jackson, Hillcrest, Md.; a sister, Mamie Rowley, Baton Rouge; a brother, Albert Rowley, Baton Rouge; a sister-in-law, Vera Rowley, Baton Rouge; a brother-in-law, Lawrence Wilson, New Orleans; 43 step-grandchildren; 35 step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents, Joan H. Jones and Elise W. Jones Rowley; wife, Mildred Jones; two brothers; and three sisters. He was a deacon at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church Scholarship Fund. Fraternal Funeral Home, Clinton, in charge of arrangements. |
