Local Dairyman Dies Suddenly At Home Here

Harry H Rowley, 70, a resident and dairyman in Colton for 20 years, died suddenly this morning following a heart attack as he worked in the yard at his residence, 305 Cypress St.

A native of Indiana, Mr. Rowley moved to Colton in 1937 from South Dakota where he was farming. He went into the dairy business with his son Herbert Rowley. The dairy, the Blue Mountain Dairy, was located the first year at Grand Terrace. Since 1937 the dairy has been located at Cypress St. in Colton. The deceased retired from the dairy in January.

He was an active member of the Colton Community Church. He was a member of the Colton Optimist Club.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Rowley, three sons, Herbert, Ray, and Eldon Rowley, all four of Colton; four daughters, Mrs. Hazel Zieman of Whittier, Mrs. Harce Thompson of Colton, Mrs. Riva Munz of Lancaster, and Miss Grace Rowley of Colton; and 16 grandchildren.

Former Davison County Farmer Dies In West

Word has been received in Mitchell of the death of Harry H. Rowley, 70, a former resident of Davison County. Mr. Rowley died Wednesday morning at Colton, Calif.

He was a brother of the late Leo Rowley of Mitchell. He was engaged in farming in Davison County for many years, going to the West Coast in 1936.

Survivors include his widow, three sons, Herbert, Ray, and Eldon of Colton and four daughters, Mrs. Hazel Zieman of Whittier, Mrs. Beryl Thompson and Miss Grace Rowley of Colton, and Mrs. Riva Munz of Lancaster, Calif.
