LOWELL

Ervin Francis Rowley, 97, of River Road, Lowell, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at Harmar Place.

He was born Aug. 27, 1905, in West Virginia to Francis Dell and Etta Stevens Rowley. He had worked as a tax collector for the Internal Revenue Service.

He is survived by one brother, Emerson Rowley of Parkersburg; one niece, Lucille Shriver, and one nephew, Bill Schumacher, both of Lowell, and with whom he had made his home the past seven years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion Rowley; one daughter, Joan Rowley; two brothers, Harvey and Paul Rowley; and one sister, Mabel Schumacher.

Abiding with Mr. Rowley's wishes, he has been cremated. Private graveside services will be at the convenience of the family in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to a church of choice or to the L-A Fire and Rescue Squad.

The Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
