Adeline Rowley

Adeline Esther Hildur Rowley, 92, of Cambridge, formerly of Brooklyn Center, died May 6, 2002 at Grandview Christian Home.

Funeral services were held May 9 from Cambridge Lutheran Church with Rev. Erling Tungseth officiating. Pastor Gary Schulz, accompanied by Mary Kay O'Neill, sang 'Blessed Assurance' and 'The Lord's Prayer.' Pallbearers were Michael Rowley, Randy Morningstar, Greg Sjodin, Denise Rowley, Brent Sjodin, and Shawn Karnes. Interment was in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

She was born June 25, 1909 at Brunswick, MN to Arvid and Hannah Oslund. She graduated from Brunswick grade school, later moved to the Minneapolis area. On August 2, 1928 she married Floyd Rowley. To this union four children were born. They lived briefly in Minneapolis and then farmed in Cambridge until 1949 when they moved back to Minneapolis. In 1997 she moved back to Cambridge. She was a resident of Grandview Christian Home just short of two years. She was active in the quilting group of Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Brooklyn Center. After moving to Cambridge, she joined Cambridge Evangelical Lutheran Church, attended Cambridge Christian Women's Club, and her neighborhood Bible group, as well as Border Belles Homemakers Group with her daughter, Joanne.

Adeline is survived by sons, John (Joyce) Rowley of Edina, Gerald (Joyce) Rowley of Crystal, Wayne Rowley of Brooklyn Park; daughter, Joanne (Dennis) Sjodin of Cambridge; 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; brother, Hilding Oslund of Minneapolis; sisters, Leona of Ogilvie, Jan of St. Francis, Luella (LaVerne) Peterson of Day, Eunice Schulz of Mankato.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; daughter-in-law, Naomie Rowley; brother, Wallace Oslund; and sister, Mabel Chiari.

Arrangements were with Carlson-Labatte Funeral Home in Cambridge.
