Atkins, 82, of New Albany, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 5 at Seabrook, Dieckmann and Naville Funeral Homes Market Street Chapel, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. She died Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at Floyd Memorial Hospital. She was the former Virginia L. Rowley, a retired factory worker from General Electric and the former owner and operator of the old Pineridge Cafe in New Albany. She was also a member of St. Marks United Church of Christ. Survivors include a son, Donald P. Kahoe, Greenville; a step-daughter, Mary Smith, Corydon; a brother, Hugh "Hooter" Rowley, New Albany; a sister, Alice Dolan, New Albany; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lasetta Rowley; her husband, Charles "Chod" Atkins; a brother, Charles "Bud" Rowley and two sisters, Janie Wells and Olive Ruth Rudolph. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 4. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice and Palliative Care of Southern Indiana. |
