DEATHSRIPLEY - Hazel N. Rhodes, 80, of Ripley died March 31, 2004, in Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, after an extended illness. She was born Nov. 2, 1923, in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Boyd and Hallie Ashby Raines. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James O. Rhodes, in 1990; and one sister, Faye Rowley. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Cavlline "Bugsy" Rhodes of Ripley, Jerry and Karen Rhodes, Jimmy and Florence "Shortie" Rhodes, Jack and Linda Rhodes, Johnny and Janet Rhodes, Jacob and Rosetta Rhodes, Jessie and Donna Rhodes, Charles Kirby and Christina Rhodes, William Rhodes and Okey Daniel Rhodes, all of Goshen, Ind., Joey and Diane Rhodes of Harmony; daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Mayford Bowles of Charleston, Anna Kay and Greg Johns of Kenna; four brothers, Darris and Keith Raines, both of Ripley, Joe Raines of Kenna, Roy Raines of Spencer; four sisters, Macie Click of Portland, Ohio, Geraldine Anderson and Janet Cougar, both of Kenna, Wanda McClain of Tennessee; 45 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 3, at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Bill Casto officiating. Burial will be in Rhodes Cemetery, Harmony. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home |
