ANCHORAGEPriscilla Rowley, 78Anchorage resident Priscilla Ann Rowley, 78, died Feb. 21, 2005, of complications from pneumonia while visiting her son and his family in Tucson, Ariz. Her family said she passed quietly while being comforted by family members. A memorial service was March 5 at the Masonic Temple in Napa, Calif. A celebration of life in Anchorage will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Anchorage Moose Lodge 1534, 4211 Arctic Blvd. Mrs. Rowley was born Nov. 25, 1926, in Petaluma, Calif., the daughter of Alfred and Amy Bond, who both died during her early childhood. She was cherished by the aunt who raised her, Dorothy Schultheiss. Mrs. Rowley moved to Anchorage in 2002 to live with her daughter. Her family wrote: "A spiritual woman, she was a 43-year member of Silver Spray Chapter 59, Order of the Eastern Star, where she was past worthy matron of the chapter and past deputy grand matron for the state of California. She was also a member of Women of the Moose, Chapter 139, in Anchorage." Mrs. Rowley was preceded in death by her husband, James Rowley Sr. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Mary Rowley of Tucson; daughter, Susan Vancil, and her partner, Fred "Fast Fred" Nienkark, of Anchorage; aunt, Dorothy Schultheiss of Napa; five grandchildren and spouses, James III and Michelle Rowley, David and Stella Rowley, and Brett and Shelli Rowley, all of California, Rosemarie Rowley of Portland, Ore., and Jaymen Lloyd of Anchorage; eight great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jake, Taylor, Sofia, Brittni and C.J. Rowley of California, and Hailey and Madison Nicolet-Lloyd of Anchorage; other family members in California, Colorado, Ohio and Connecticut; and other Alaska family members including Guppie, Lorna, Grant, Drew, August, Annie, Herman, Robbie and Chris. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, Donation Department, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95817. | |
