Branch Three- Timothy Rowley
Known Descendants

Timothy Rowley came to the new world about 1761 at the age of 15 or so. He was born in England. It is said that he had six brothers, and the three eldest were ships' captains. Timothy was apprenticed to a shipbuilder, and one day got into an altercation with his employer, which ended in blows-- or so goes the story. Fearing disgrace and punishment, he was whisked to America aboard one of his brothers' ships.

Timothy Rowley was a private during the Revolutionary War. He was said to have married a woman named Jemima Dibble, by whom he had one child. When she died, he married Naomi Root (a name which seems to have many alternate spellings).
